I ran across this place while looking for some lunch on my way through Nashville. Basically you get your choice of 1 of 3 entrees and 2 of 6 sides. Everything I had was tasted excellent, it was like one of the best home cooked meals I'd ever had
What's the full story behind this quirky spot? I have no idea.
I had lunch here accidentally (e.g. somebody else's pick), but was left happy for this happenstance. It's small, simple and straightforward. And delicious and cheap.
Casual...even quirky...and the food is GREAT! Everything (that I've tried so far) tastes homemade and fresh. For food quality and taste, it's got to be the best casual lunch spot in Nashville. A special shout-out for the macaroni salad--it's the best that I've found in the South--ever. Check it out--you'll be glad that you did.
Starting small sounds like a negative and yet in the restaurant business a concise, well-considered menu is a great idea for start-ups. It means the restaurant is focused on quality and the kitchen has time to craft a few really good dishes, and not a bazillion mediocre ones. With that in mind we welcome Luna as one of the newest thoughtful eateries in town.
As frequently happens, I heard about a new restaurant opening in the comments here at Bites. You guys should really get paid for your PR skillz. Luna ... A Gourmet Meat & Three is located at 2309 Franklin Pike in the site of the old Monell's to Go. When I saw on their Facebook page that they boast of having "the best view of Captain D's in the city," I knew I had to try it out and sent up the bat signal on Twitter for fellow tasters.
